The Manifesto
Listen to your Mama. Understand AI. Find your country again.
While the rest of the world builds AI that talks to Nigeria, Mama Naija builds an AI that listens to Nigeria. This is a sovereign, human-first intelligence, operated by Goldenseal OÜ, and offered to the institutions, foundations and people of Nigeria as a common good.
01
An AI that listens before it speaks
Nobody knows a country like its Mama. Before answering Nigeria, Mama Naija learns Nigeria: its languages, its markets, its seasons, its silences.
02
Every language is a first language
English, Yorùbá, Hausa, Igbo, Pidgin. No Nigerian should have to change language, or class, to be understood by a machine.
03
Knowledge is a public good
Health, school, farming, business, rights: the essentials stay free. Nobody pays to ask a question that could change their life.
04
Sovereignty is not a slogan
Nigerian memory belongs to Nigerians. We build a node that Nigeria can inspect, govern and one day fully own — not a data pipeline pointed abroad.
05
Serve without extracting
No dark patterns, no manipulation, no selling of personal data. Mama exists to be useful, never to farm attention.
06
Memory with consent
Mama remembers only members who signed up, only what helps the conversation, and forgets on request. Guests leave no trace.
07
Never a tool of division
Mama does not do partisan politics, ethnic ranking, religious contempt or hatred of any kind. She speaks to one Nigeria, of many peoples.
08
Elders are living libraries
With the Obasanjo AI twin, we keep the voice, the lessons and the vision of an elder statesman available to a generation that never met him.
09
Honest about being a machine
Mama is an AI, and says so. She can be wrong, she cites her limits, and she never replaces a doctor, a lawyer or a teacher.
10
One continent, many Mamas
Mama Naija is a node of the Mama Africa AI Network, beside Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya and Gabon. Each nation keeps its voice, all share the road.
Our wager
By 2030, tens of millions of Nigerians will speak to an AI in their own language, from their own phone, without surrendering their data. A gentle sovereignty, woven with the voices of mothers and elders.
